Moodboard

Mood boards are a vital aspect with the graphic designer industry such as magazine.
Mood boards are a type of collage that consist of images and samples that enable a visual illustration of a particular style which they are trying to purse.

Using a mood board within the production of creating my magazine, with allow me to brain storm ideas of the particular designs and layout for my magazine. This gives me a sense of direction for my creatively, where I am able to develop my views of the style of magazine I would like to create. The images I have used within my Mood board have been influenced by the music, fashion, music of my chosen genre ‘Pop’. The majority of the images on the Mood board have given my inspiration that I want to incorporate it into the production of my magazine. For instance the Masthead, artist and feature of my magazine and particular colour scheme that work well with one another.

As you can see from the mood board the former colour scheme of the ‘Pop’ genre is bright optimistic colours that uses a variety of different tones from the colour wheel. However the two  colour that are more published with the ‘Pop’ genre is pink or red. This may be because of the meaning and connotation of these particular colour, pink and red often symbioses sexuality, love and passion, which is how most artist of the pop genre are portrayed in the media. As well as the colour signifying the artists choice of lyrics that mainly link to the subject of love and friendship which is also reflected in the colours. I will use the typical colour wheel and pallet of pop genre to help express a effective magazine. The pictures published in the media of the artist emphasis their attractiveness and desirability, shown through the explicit choice of clothing and their body language.
The use of heading and features publishing on the front cover are bond and make a statement ’50 top charts’ in order to engage the target audience. I will ensure to included various different font style to liven up the atmosphere and presentation of my magazine.

I feel after making a mood board it has opened up a range of ideas and opinions of how to present my magazine in order to engage the target audience by the use of convention such as Font, images, coverline and masthead.
