Themes

After receiving my results from my questionnaire and doing deep, detailed research into the Pop genre magazine it has shown my target audience prefer the colour scheme of red, black, white and grey. Therefore not only am I going to include colour scheme in the layout and structure of the magazine, I also want to reflect this particular colour further beyond the layout , I will portray it through my models use of clothing. This will enable my magazine look vibrant and bright with the star striking red, with a sense of continuity.

I am using a variety of costumes and props, not only through the use of fonts, in order to engage my target audience as much as possible.

Costume 1:

This first costume combines a black dress, with an embroidered pattered neckline and a matt black finish that curves into body shape, with a feathered hem. This fitted dress allows the body shape of my model to be slighting more exposed, and enhancing her body features. With portraying my artist as a sexual object, heighten her exquisite facial outline shape. Reflecting my artist in this particular way will engage my target audience, as they will aspire and gorge over the way her personal image is portrayed within the magazine. She is wearing wedged black heels to enhance her height of the image and elongate her legs giving her that sense of superior over her target audience. The red harsh lipstick adds the splash of colour to image, however keeping the elegance edge to my model.

Costume 2:

The second costume wet look disco pants, with a bright yellow/green chiffon top, with a light grey poncho with a black fur trim around the edge. I placed my model in this particular outfit as it’s a more casual clothing style, this enables my target audience to see a personal insight of the artist lifestyle off stage. Because of this each member of my audience will feel as if they each have a personal connection with the artist. The Fur trim on the grey poncho portrays my model with a sense of sophistication but still wearing the disco pants and red lipstick to reflect the portrayal of her sexuality and beauty.

Who is my main model?
My media model is Emily north, she will be staring as my main feature in my magazine. I chose her particularly to feature in my magazine as she fits the stereotypical image of a pop artist. Emily herself is part of the genre I am creating and designing my magazine around. Emily also photography’s well as the camera highlight her features, this will allow me to gain more natural, realistic photos.
