Who is my target audience

Who is my target audience
The music genre Pop is the most listen to in the music industry. One of the most high-classed music magazine published is “billboard”. Billboard have a target audience that vary from 16, to young adulsts of the age of 26. Billboard’s magazine main genre is Pop however billboard do publish articles and international music charts regardless of the genre of music. Variuos different genre, such as : Pop, R&B and Rock this is inorder to widen their target audience and  increase their number of views. The magazine itself attracts over 4 million vistors each month from over 100 different countris and captials. The audience rely on the Billboard to prmote nusic news, videos, charts and plenty more. Billboard magazine is priced at £5.50 in the uk however the audience have to take in to consideration that it has been imported from oversea by america.

Due to the target audience appeal to young adults the layout of the magazine has to look sophisticated  and mature to atttact their audience. The overall layout is well structured  and orginsed meaning theat images and articles arent over crowed .

The conventions of a typical Pop music is that the lyrics usually relate to the subject matter “Love” and “affection” the audience can relate to these emotions whether its delight or sorrow as within the music genre “Pop” they bring out the audiences emotions and therefore the audience are always able to listen to a song that express those feeling, meaning the industry doesn't loose members of their audiences. Whereas the music metal using portrays grief and sadness , the risk with this particular genre is that their audience members are not always feeling down certain days they are going to be up-beat , therefore resulting to a small niche in the music industry causing their ratings to drop dramatically.

During music videos and photoshoots of female artists they are always portrayed in a sexual way , whether its posing in inappropriate way or wearing provocative, raunchy clothing as the main attraction on a magazine. The images some artists show are very out there, because each artists has their own style and want to be considered unique and they feel the way to do this is to surprise the audience ‘Something unexpected’ by this the artists are altering their ‘star image’ in order to stay current within the music industry and also  to sell a successful song or magazine. However you would  think the audience would be beside this due to the artists being such inspiration and role models to a large range of young-teens/ young-adult although it doesn't seem to affect the audiences opinion on the artists.
